The feasibility, perfection and, above all, the construction of bodies, identity
and gender are important sources of inspiration for Inez van Lamsweerde (1963
the Netherlands). She uses, among other things, the idealised feminine images
of the mass media and manipulates them using the "paintbox" computer.
Van Lamsweerde's photographic work confronts us with a culture within which
the body is in danger of losing its natural quality. In latest her represented
work 'The Forest' she has meticuously cross-gendered the image of her models.
